Get Into Golf and Coaching
Moors Valley Golf Course is the perfect place to ‘Get into Golf’ or to refresh your skills. Golf is an engaging and challenging sport that everyone can enjoy, which offers many physical and mental benefits.
From improving physical fitness, maintaining mental agility and providing the opportunity to make and meet friends on a regular basis, golf is a great way to keep active and social, all while enjoying some fresh air.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an improver looking to develop your existing skills, Moors Valley Golf Course offers a range of opportunities for adults.
Golf for Beginners
These courses are generally offered across four sessions, but there are also a few weekend or shorter options available to suit different needs. Perfect for beginners, participants will learn the basics, including swing technique, chipping and putting and will get the chance to play a game on the Short Course practice area. All sessions are delivered by a Golf Professional.
Golf for Beginners – Ladies only
Aimed at ladies only, these courses are generally offered across four sessions. Perfect for beginners, participants will learn the basics, including swing technique, chipping and putting and will get the chance to play a game on the Short Course practice area. All sessions are delivered by a Golf Professional.
Golf for Improvers
These courses are generally offered across four sessions and are the perfect step up from a beginner course, or ideal for anyone who has played golf before and would like a refresher to develop their existing skills. Participants will get the chance to finish with a short round on the Moors Valley Golf Course or Short Course practice area, depending upon availability of tee times.
Accessible Golf enables everyone to enjoy the sport regardless of age, health condition or impairment. Golf is a great way to improve your fitness and mobility in beautiful surroundings.
These courses and sessions are offered to groups and individuals with additional needs to provide support to help you get started.

Golf on Referral
Working with England Golf and UK Active, this pilot programme is open to anyone who has a health condition or who is recovering from an illness or injury.
The programme is made up of 12 sessions and forms part of the Active 4 Health offer for the Eastern Dorset area. Each session includes 45 minutes of golf tuition, following a structured programme, and a 30 minute group activity to support participants with their active journey. Topics will include ways to keep you motivated and increasing your energy levels.
Led by a qualified Golf Professional and supported by the Council’s Health & Activity Team, participants will learn or refresh their golfing skills and technique within a safe and supported setting.

For those who wish to learn the basics of golf or brush up on their skills, the Health and Activity Team encourage individuals to get involved in the above group sessions for additional support and engagement. If you are unsure of the suitability of a session, please get in touch so we can chat through your individual requirements. A limited one-to-one tuition programme is also available.
