Winning streak at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest (Dec 2015)

Moors Valley Country Park & Forest near Ringwood has been nominated for a prestigious national award in the Large Visitor Attraction category of the 2016 Visit England Awards for Excellence.

The nomination follows the Park being crowned Winner of Winners in the Dorset Tourism Awards in October when they also received a gold award in the Best Large Attraction category and silver in the Access and Inclusivity category.

They are also in the running for a regional accolade in the Large Visitor Attraction category of the South West Tourism Awards where they are up against stiff competition from the likes of the Eden Project, Brunel’s SS Great Britain and and Salisbury Cathedral.

The results of both the regional and national competitions will be announced early in the new year.

The tourism awards come at the end of a successful year for Moors Valley, one of the most visited attractions in the south with more than 750,000 visitors annually.

The Park was also recently voted best Outdoor Play Centre in the 2015 Primary Times Reader Star Awards. They also received a Green Flag award for quality and sustainability in September.

Clare Gronow, Team Leader at Moors Valley, said, ” We offer a unique combination of outdoor play, working forest, wonderful wildlife and healthy outdoor exercise so we are obviously delighted that our efforts have been recognised in a variety of different award schemes. Christmas is one of our busiest times of the year so we can’t rest on our laurels. We have a packed programme of family events throughout December and we are looking forward to another great year in 2016.”
