National Recognition for Moors Valley Country Park (Sept 2015)

Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, near Ringwood has received the prestigious Green Flag Award in recognition of its high quality and environmental sustainability.

The Green Flag scheme is regarded as the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales. It provides the most widely accepted measure of quality relating to the management, operation and improvement of freely accessible public parks and green space.

Moors Valley’s reputation as one of the south’s top visitor attractions has been further endorsed with the announcement that it features as a finalist in three categories of this year’s Dorset Tourism Awards. The country park is a finalist in both the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year and Access and Inclusivity categories whilst Go Ape’s forest adventure experience, based at Moors Valley, is a finalist in the Sport and Experience of the Year category.

The Dorset Tourism Awards aim to raise the profile of Dorset as a destination and to recognise its best tourism businesses. The winners will be announced on 15 October.
