Gruffalo Spotters Trail
Bring the Gruffalo and other characters to life with our Gruffalo Spotters trail and exciting augmented reality app.
Available every day until the end of November 2017.
Download The Gruffalo Spotter app at home, then on your visit look out for clues along the trail which lead to footprint marker posts – point the app at these and watch Mouse, Fox, Owl, Snake and the Gruffalo appear before your eyes!
The trail is aimed at younger children, but the whole family can enjoy following clues and collecting evidence. Download the app before you visit and point it at the augmented reality markers to bring the characters to life! You can find the start of the trail in the picnic area behind the Go Ape shelter.
The trail is 2km long (just over 1 mile) and may take up to an hour and a half to complete if walking with very young children. The trail is on forest paths which, although in the main, are firm underfoot, can get slippery and a little muddy during and after periods of wet weather.
There is an alternative route for a couple of sections of the trail which is firmer underfoot. Please ask for directions in the Visitor Centre before heading out on your adventure.
