4 week blocks of gentle walks led by qualified exercise specialists incorporating seated exercises, balance and strength conditioning.
These 4 week blocks with a qualified referral specialist are the next step up from a Wander with gentle exercises and a slightly longer amble around the park and forest.
A range of free walks led by trained volunteer health walk leaders run every week to help you establish a routine, get back into exercise or return from injury and illness. There are weekly walks at Moors Valley and in locations around the local area. These free walks are part of the national Walking for Health initiative. A progression from normal walking, these sessions are for those who enjoy walking but want more than just gentle aerobic workout. Our qualified fitness instructor will support participants through 4 sessions to gradually improve fitness and technique. The sessions will include walking at increased speed, relays, and lower and upper body exercises.
Buggy Fitness Walks
Instructor-led fitness walks that parents and carers can come to with their children in buggies. The aim is for the adult to get fitter whilst the children get some fresh air. The session will involve some exercise elements and informal fun with fitness walking.
