An improvers Tai Chi course in an outdoor setting.

Tai Chi is a moving meditation that incorporates several elements within the practice.

Health – Helping to improve the immune system.
Fitness – It acts aerobically on the heart and lungs in a low impact way to build strength.
Cultivation of Chi – It teaches efficiency of movement and turns effort into ease.
Meditation – teaching the player to meditate even while moving and interacting with the world around us.
Martial arts – The movements all have many applications which can be applied to the martial arts. The martial aspect, in the early stages, is used to inform the structure of the postures and explain the body mechanics behind each move. Don’t get me wrong it can be highly effective when performed by an accomplished practitioner, however, if you’re looking for a beginner’s self-defence class then there are better systems you should start with.

This 8 week course will teach you Part 1 of the Short Yang Tai Chi form, basic stance and shifting of weight and offers slightly more of a challenge for those interested in finding out more about Tai Chi. Perfect for those who have completed the beginners course.

Please meet at the Visitor Centre 5mins before the start time of the activity. Booking essential.
Please note: all participants will be required to complete a short health questionnaire before they take part in their first activity.
