As the sun goes down lots of creatures begin the wake up. Explore Moors Valley at this special time to find out more about our more secretive nocturnal residents.
Have-a-go at using a bat detector on a walk round the Park and Forest to help you get some glimpses of our native bats. Find out who eats who and how they catch them.
A great way to explore Moors valley after dark, our annual night walks are extremely popular so book early to avoid disappointment.
Meet at the Visitor Centre 10 minutes before the event start time. Booking essential.
Bring a torch and a warm jumper. Children may prefer to wear long trousers if they are sensitive to an odd scratch or midge bite. You may also wish to bring along some insect repellent.
Participants should wear sensible footwear – trainers or wellies are ideal. Open sandals or shoes with heels should not be worn.
Moors Valley Challenge: You can gain your ‘go on a night walk’, ‘listen to bats’ and ‘try moth spotting’ challenge stamps on this event
