As the sun goes down lots of creatures begin the wake up. Explore Moors Valley at this special time to find out more about our more secretive nocturnal residents.
Starting at the Ranger Den there will be a short presentation on bats, moths and other creatures of the night followed by a dusk walk around the lake and through the woodland.
We will be using bat detectors and torches, followed by seeing if the moth trap has attracted any early visitors as we finish up with hot chocolate.
The walk will be mostly surfaced paths, with some level grass.
A great way to explore Moors valley after dark, our annual night walks are extremely popular so book early to avoid disappointment.
Meet at the Visitor Centre 10 minutes before the event start time. Booking essential.
Bring a torch and a warm jumper. Children may prefer to wear long trousers if they are sensitive to an odd scratch or midge bite. You may also wish to bring along some insect repellent.
Participants should wear sensible footwear – trainers or wellies are ideal. Open sandals or shoes with heels should not be worn.
If you would like to attend one of our events but have concerns about accessibility, please get in touch so we can discuss how we can best accommodate your requirements.
