Orienteering

There is a permanent orienteering course set up in the Forest with a range of courses to suit different abilities.

An orienteering pack, including maps, course card and introductory leaflets is available at a cost of £3.00 per pack; from the Information Point in the Visitor Centre.
A course map which shows orienteering markers which can be visited by bike is also available, priced at £1.00 per map pack.

Orienteering events

Special orienteering events are held throughout the year on the 2nd Saturday of most months where members of Wimborne Orienteering Club are on hand to introduce beginners to the sport of orienteering. Please see the events pages for details.
Mountain bike orienteering events are held at Moors Valley on a regular basis. For more details of these events of other mountain bike orienteering in the local area, please contact the Recreation Ranger on 01425 470721.

Group visits

Schools and groups are welcome to use the orienteering facility at Moors Valley. If you require large numbers of orienteering packs for your group for a self-led visit, please order these in advance on 01425 470721. For details of Ranger-led sessions please take a look at the education pages. Corporate groups may wish to use the orienteering course as a teambuilding activity.
