Food & drink
Seasons Restaurant is open daily from 9.00am to 4.30pm (later in summer) for freshly cooked breakfasts, light lunches, homemade cakes and speciality coffees.
Use the download link on the right to see the current daily menu. Daily specials are also available and are displayed in the restaurant.
Groups can be catered for; please contact Seasons directly for more information on 01425 470537 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Seasons Restaurant can also cater for private functions by arrangement.
Snacks and Drinks
For Easter, Christmas, October and February half terms 2012-13 Seasons Restaurant will be trialling an additional outlet for sandwiches, cakes, drinks and snacks in the multi-purpose space – ‘The Stables’, which can be found at the rear of the Visitor Centre. We hope this will alleviate problems with long queues inside the main restaurant.
Snacks and drinks are also available from Kingsmere Railway station at times when the train is running and during busy times a small outlet will be open at the front of the Visitor Centre selling take-away hot and cold drinks and snacks.
Picnics and BBQs
You are welcome to bring your own food and drink to Moors Valley – picnic tables are provided by Moors Lake and in the Forest picnic area, and can also be found along the Play Trail and Nature Trail.
Please note: There are no undercover picnic areas or rubbish bins at Moors Valley. Rubbish from food or gift items bought at Moors Valley outlets will be happily accepted by staff. For the sake of wildlife and the enjoyment of others, please come prepared to take your own rubbish home with you.
It is possible to bring your own barbeques but they can only be used on the grass picnic area between the play area and the lake or in the forest picnic area. Due to high fire risk, during the summer no BBQs will be allowed in the forest picnic area. All BBQs now MUST be on legs at least 30cms high. Stands for small disposable BBQs are available to borrow from the Visitor Centre for a £10 cash/cheque deposit per stand. BBQs are not permitted in any other areas of the park or forest.
You must come prepared to take all your rubbish and BBQ ashes away with you as there are no bins at Moors Valley. Please be particularly careful on windy days that smoke does not bother other visitors and that there is not a risk of sparks setting light to vegetation. In a particularly dry spell use of portable bbqs in this area may be banned.
Ice cream is available from the kiosk, offering a choice of twelve delicious New Forest flavours along with soft ‘whippy’ and a variety of wrapped products; with prices from just 75p. The kiosk is located to the front of the Visitor Centre on the pathway to the Forest.
Wrapped ice creams are also available at both Kingsmere and Lakeside railway stations when the train is running. Large groups are invited to pre-order ice creams from either the Railway (01425 471415) or Ice Cream Kiosk (01425 474966).
