We now offer the chance for children to not only learn about the countryside but also give them an opportunity to have a go at some of the activities they can do there.
Get Hooked on Fishing
Fishing is a fantastic way to watch wildlife, see the seasons change and relax in the countryside; it is also a professional sport that requires a lot of skill and patience.
This is an opportunity for children to learn the art of angling with our fully qualified coach, learning the basic skills and knowledge to go fishing on Moors Lake. All equipment and bait is provided. The session will cover; rules and regulations, waterside safety, basic set up of a fishing pole and tactics, species recognition and freshwater ecology.
Time: 2 hours

Adventure Cycling
To give pupils the chance to use and learn skills to ride and explore the Forest tracks and trails. The sessions will build confidence on a bike and give pupils an exhilarating taster of off-road mounatin biking in the Forest.
They will cover; balance and co-ordination, warming up and cooling down, braking, gear selection, cornering, climbing and group riding.
All rides are suited to the technical ability of each group.
Time: 1 hour
Maximum group size: 16 (minimum 8, above 8 to be supervised by a teacher)

Cost: £4.00 per child, bike hire cost at a reduced rate of £2.00 per child

Cost: £8.00 per child, bike hire cost at a reduced rate of £5.00 per child
This can be split into 2 x 1 1/2 hour sessions or 3 x 1 hour sessions. Allow a 10 minute turn around time within each session.
Golf
