Choose a Ranger-led session
During term time from March to November, the Rangers offer a range of environmental activities for schools and groups that all aim to foster a greater appreciation and understanding of our local environment, through enjoyable 'hands on' experiences.
All sessions need to be booked in advance by contacting the Rangers. To find out the availability of date for a visit please contact the Education Ranger by calling 01425 470721.
All sessions are led by the Rangers of the East Dorset Countryside Management Service. For most activities we set a maximum of 16 children to 1 Ranger. Sessions vary in length from 1 hour through to 4 or 5 hours. Costs vary, starting from £32 per Ranger per hour.
All schools and children’s clubs are welcome to take part in these activities. The recommended age group for each activity is given but some activities can be adapted to suit other ages. Most of the activities are suitable for students with special needs, some are more suitable than others; please contact the Education Ranger if you would like to discuss the suitability of any of the activities.
Rangers will provide all instructions and equipment for the activity and will be responsible for the health and safety of the group. Group leaders and helpers are encouraged to become involved in the activites.
Please note: Group leaders remain responsible for the behaviour of the group at all times.
