Groups and schools are welcome to make self-led visits to Moors Valley and use the facilities as normal.
Popular choices are the Play Trail and Play Areas, the Moors Valley Railway or the permanent orienteering course in the Forest. If children would like to bring along some pocket money, a selction of gift and souvenier items are available in the Moors Valley Gift Shop located in the Visitor Centre. If you plan to visit the shop we would be greatful if you could let us know when you make your coach/minibus booking. Alternatively goody bags can be ordered in advance.
A charge is due for all coaches, minibuses and/or cars; there is no admission fee per person. Please see our coach and minibus charges page for details. Coaches and minibuses must be booked in advance, please call the Rangers on 01425 470721.
Booking procedure for self-led group visits
Once you have decided when you would like to visit and you have booked your coaches / minibuses with your coach operator, phone the Rangers (01425 470721) to book your visit to Moors Valley. Alternatively coaches and minibuses can be booked online.
We will complete a group visit booking form with you over the phone and send you a copy by e-mail or post. Payment can be made by credit / debit card over the phone. If you can only pay by cheque or BACS an invoice will need to be raised for you, please request on booking.
On the day of your visit, the entry barrier will record the coach/minibus number plate on arrival. Please give your registration number at the Information Point in the Visitor Centre so it can be validated for exit to enable you to leave.
All groups who would like to visit Moors Valley in the evening must contact the Rangers.
Please refer to the standard park opening times. If your visit can be completed within our standard opening hours, there will be no charge for parents dropping off within a 10 minute period. There is however a charge for cars and minbuses that are left for the duration of your visit; for evening groups this should be paid for in advance, by phoning the Rangers on the number below.
If you wish to stay later than the advertised closing time between June and August, a £20 late entry charge will ensure the gates and toilets remain open for the duration of your visit (9pm latest). Evening visit requests between September and May will be considered on an individual basis.
The Visitor Centre toilets will be open between 8am and 5pm (6pm during June, July & August). The Railway Station toilets will be open between 8am and 8pm.
Rangers will be on duty at the Visitor Centre until 5.00pm (at least 7.30pm during June, July & August). If you have any problems such as lost children or first aid, please do not hesitate to contact the Rangers in the Visitor Centre on 01425 470721.
